On 6 & 8 November 2024 Omega ran an online workshop on how to research and document the manufacture, export and use of South Korean policing equipment.

“If we will not investigate, who will?” asks Dr Benito Molino, whose evidence was crucial to the second-only conviction for torture under the Philippines Anti-Torture Act of 2009, despite a huge rise in torture over the past decade. Article 12 of the Convention Against Torture, turning 40 this year, obligates States to a “prompt and impartial investigation” to allegations of torture. 

In late October, Omega joined a Torture-Free Trade advocacy mission to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
