Staff

Omega operates a flat management structure, with staff collectively agreeing strategy and work plans, under the oversight of a Board of Trustees. We have a small, dedicated staff team who all collaborate on the core work of the organisation. Researchers work across a broad range of issues but within this often have a geographical or subject focus.

Helen Close
Helen has been a researcher at Omega since 2009. Her work includes researching and analysing manufacture, trade and use of both law enforcement and military weapons.

Neil has been a researcher at Omega since 1996, analysing the manufacture, trade and use of military, security and police weapons worldwide.

Michael Crowley
Michael has been a researcher at Omega since 2007. He has a particular focus investigating the global manufacture and trade in law enforcement equipment.

Matthew McEvoy
Matthew has been a researcher at Omega since 2015. His main geographic focus is Latin America, where he collaborates with a range of actors from across the region.

Rebecca has been a researcher at Omega since 2019. She researches the manufacture and trade of law enforcement weapons, and their use in human rights violations.
