This briefing, submitted to the United Nations’ Committee against Torture (UN CAT) prior to its 54th Session to be held in Geneva from 20th April to 15th May 2015, outlines a number of items of concern in relation to the manufacture, trade and use of certain types of military, security and policing equipment which could be deemed to contravene Articles 2 and 16 of the Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment.
