Submission to OHCHR on the Use of Less Lethal Weapons during Assemblies

THIS SUBMISSION EXAMINES THE THE HUMAN RIGHTS IMPACT OF THE USE OF LLW AND AMMUNITION IN THE CONTEXT OF ASSEMBLIES

Omega prepared this paper in response to a call for submissions by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). It examines the human rights impact of a range of less lethal weapons when they are used in the context of public assemblies and the related activities of companies manufacturing and/or promoting such weapons.

The OHCHR report “Impact of new technologies on the promotion and protection of human rights in the context of assemblies, including peaceful protests” was published in advance of Human Rights CouncilĀ Session 44, in June 2020.
