Omega has extensive experience of researching, drafting and publishing on all aspects of the Arms Trade. We have particular expertise in researching the manufacture, sale and use of military, security and police weapons and equipment as well as related export control issues. We have a team of researchers that have extensive knowledge of the arms trade as well as a large archive and library of documents on the trade, companies and equipment involved.
Combined with this we have experience in drafting detailed policy lines and recommendations on all aspects of the arms trade, particularly on issues relating to the manufacture, sale and use of military, security and police equipment.
In addition we run different workshops with the aim to develop capacity of the target audience to monitor and investigate the manufacture, sale and use of military, security and police equipment. We have run programmes in countries including Indonesia, South Africa, Senegal, Uganda, Lebanon, Georgia, South Korea, Hong Kong; for civil society, members of national human rights mechanisms, lawyers, journalists and the UN.
