Stun Grenades

Stun Grenades (also known as flashbang, distraction or disorientation devices) can be hand-thrown or fired from a weapon. It uses an explosive charge to cause a loud bang and a near simultaneous bright flash of light. Combined, these are designed to cause temporary blindness and loss of hearing.

These grenades are designed to be indiscriminate and, when used to police protests, can make people panic. Shrapnel and fragments from the explosive blast can also cause serious injury and the detonation can start fires and cause burns. Therefore, they should not be used to disperse assemblies.
